Being the busy bee I am - I'm not really a busy bee, most of the time I'm just very busy being lazy while not trying to think about all the stuff that I need to ge done, anyhow - I somehow managed to find the time to do some sale shopping (I thank you online shops on behalf of all the students who are in the midst of their exams right now and would be missing out on all the sale goodies if t wasn't for you). My package arrived a few days ago and today I finally slipped these babies on my feet and took some pics!

I'd like to start off with whishing you all a belated, but very merry Christmas! My weekend was filled with dinner parties and family get-togethers. I honestly still felt stuffed and exhausted when I woke up yesterday! So Monday I decided to take myself a day off and recover ;)
Today I really had to start studying, but I'm afraid I constantly got distracted by my computer. New kid in Town: Oasis watch

On my way home from school today I took some pictures, inspired by the foggy whiteness that was all around.

The first pic is my favourite house on the block. It's so majestic and chic! The third is from a statue in the parc nearby our house. Picture 2 & 4 just fitted nicely into the "white" inspiration. I love that cable knit, with a floaty maxi! Add up some studded biker boots or sparkly loafers and you've got the perfect comfy/chic look for this season...

As the end of our renovations is coming nearer and nearer, I find myself dreaming more and more about decorating our future home. My colour scheme will be white, black, grey, and gold. But I'd love to spice things up with a few pops of pink, mustard and teal.We've already got a cream coloured chesterfield and a kitchen. About everything else still needs to be bought! Wich is exactly why I thought 'd make myself a whislist, perfect to inspire the people that still need to buy me the perfect Christmas gift ;)

I want to start off the week with saying thanks to all of you for your sweet comments and support! I've had a week to sob and feel sad, but now I'm off to a fresh start! And what better way to do this than with some lovely inspiration?

In the first pic you can see the 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli tote (availble at Net-a-porter in taupe). I think this one is to become a real It-bag, a classic and a keeper. It's on the top of my whislist for sure! Another one of my favourites is the Céline tote. Every morning when I'm walking to school, a girl sporting that bag passes me. You wouldn't believe the number of times I have contemplated yanking it out of her hands ;). The Zara plaited shopper is a much cheaper alternative. It has been a huge trend around the blogosphere all summer, but I still love it!
A black tote just seems to be the perfect bag for everyday. You can easily trow in all you stuff for work/school and still look classy! Plus it is timeless and slightly edgy at the same time. Anyways, the conclusion is: The Big Black tote is just as unmissable as the Little Black Dress! And on second thought, I don't own either of these items. Hmm, maybe a good excuse to plan a shopping spree?

Tea and warm socks

Some days are better then others. But I can tell you for the last few weeks, almost all of my days have been pretty bad. My family has been going through a rough time lately, I'm busy at school, busy renovating a house with my boyfriend and working hard to keep up this blog and make it succesfull. Aside from that I'm doing my best not to lose track of my friends...

So as you can see, it's a bit more than I can handle. But I'm sure a lot of you can relate to what I'm saying right now. Which is why I think we should help and support each other! Sometimes you just need to hear from another person: Just let everything go, curl up in the sofa with a cup of tea and warm socks and watch your favourite feelgood movie (mine is the first SATC movie). Which is exactly what I'm going to do right now.

Like I said on Monday, I wore my pink feather vest to school to cheer me up. Below you can see how I styled it:

I thought it turned out quite casual this way, whereas feathers usually have the tendency to look rather festive and thus not very wearable for everyday life...

Above you can see the result of the treasure hunting I did in Antwerp last week! Since we don't have a Forever21 in Ghent yet, I grabbed the opportunity to buy cheap and nice jewellery there with both hands ;). I bought a spikey bracelet (I had been looking for one for like ages) and a rhinestone necklaces, which is perfect to add a litlle sparkle to my daily uniform!

As you will have noticed (if you haven't been living on another planet for the last two months, that is) this season is all about mixing prints! But, naturellement, to be able to do such a thing, one should first have some printed items in one's closet. I myself am a huge fan of wearing shirts, so I suggest we start off with those. Now I do have quite a few shirts of different colours hanging in my closet, but I'm afraid my wardrobe needs a bit more variety on the print department! So that, my dears, is why I am craving all of the babies above!

It's definately getting colder now, so I guess this was one of the last times I could face the world with my bare legs :) I just about managed not to freeze them off! Luckily I had the most comfy and warm sweater on top. I bought it in Zara a few weeks ago and I've been practically living in it ever since! I love the burgundy colour, it's really my fav fall colour this year!

Hi lovelies!

I just worked my way trough Milan Fashion Week - ah yes, some lovely hours of free time spent on Style.com in the company of a hot cup of tea and some brownies - and these are a few of my favourite shows.

Dolce & Gabbana is always in my top ten, but I have to admit that I'm still feeling a little overdosed on veggies this year :) The silhouettes and the lace flowers however were gorgeous!
At Prada I'm loving the round shoulders and pleated skirts. And I'm also crushing on that second look of Bottega Veneta, it's so wearable and streetsyle-ish! I love the different materials and prints, the colours make the look interesting.

More of my Milan favourites will follow on Friday! And next week it's Paris, baby :)

With school back in buisseness, I find it harder and harder to keep up with my blogging. It seems like we need to write an article, do an assignment or prepare a presentetation for every single course this year! In the meantime I'm practising for my drivers license and I'm trying to renovate a house. No need to say that I am quite busy... But, fear not! I will do everything in my power to keep this blog going (if only because I love it so much ;)). So to make a short story long: My apologies for blogging about my London favourites a few days later then I promised.

I think my absolute favourite must be Sass & Bide this season (unless Milan/Paris have better things up their sleeve). I am a huge fan of polka dots ànd tribal prints/necklaces and I dare say that the combination of the two makes them both exponentially better!

And Burberry and Matthew are always just lovely. Though, I must say, Burberry to me appeared to be a fall-collection rather then a spring-collection. But, lovely none the less!

Diane Von Furstenberg's dresses were brilliant as always. I love their round, poofy shape.

We can dream of spring all we want (with all the new collections tempting us on style.com) but the fact is, it's still fall! So I thought I'd take a look back to the trends of this season! Conclusion: A coat with big, round shoulders is the perfect investment piece for fall/winter 2011! How lucky for me that I've just picked up a perfect one at COS (pictures will follow).

Btw, The round shoulder-trend is also very happening in spring 2012 (at least if we can believe Prada)

Looklove: Monochromatic

The Sartorialist

School has officially kicked off today, which gives me the perfect excuse to dig up some outfit inspiration - any excuse will do really! I've been currently obsessing about these two pairs of matching monochromatic ladies. I've always been a sucker for soft powder pink and I think (hihi, that rhymes) that it's the perfect transitional colour. The grey/silver combo is also rocking it this fall! If you want to make this monochromatic look work, playing with textures is key: Tweed with jersey, snakeprint leather and felt make the look interesting. Oh, and I'm totally smitten for the flounced hem!

Please do excuse me for the scandalous late update on my New York Fashion Week favourites, but I've been having some internet troubles (Grr!). So at last here is the first batch! More to come next week, so stay tuned ;)

So far I've been loving Lim's lovely pastels and sleek designs. Another topper was Derek Lam. I especially love those white borders on the black pants! The only minor was that the models all looked very ugly - don't you think?

BCBG Max Azria enchanted me with their special necklines and shoulders. Oh, and of course one can never go wrong with a litlle tribal print! Though I daresay I was under the impression there might be a little overload of it in the spring 2012 collections...Well, I'll let you know if I was right on Monday ;)

I had a wonderful trip in Swiss, but I must say I was very happy to be back home again and give my man a big hug! This week I will be catching up with my blogreading, pinterest and of course NY and London Fashion week! But first: a little peek into my holiday pics...

We (my niece, my sister and me) spent a lot of time drinking homemade "Eistee" (or red wine) at this cute little café, smoking way to many sigarettes (but that's over now - I quit yesterday...) and catching up with our lovely Swiss friends! We also enjoyed the beautiful nature, read books and indulged in the first season of vampire diaries (man, that stuff is dangerously addictive!).Anyhow, I'm off to lunch now with my two dearest girlfriends! This deep, rich colour is not only perfect for shoes and accessories, but also for leather pants or boyfriend coats, chunky knits and fedora hats. It's especcially gorgeous when paired with dark blue and gold accents.

Hi my dears!

Today I got a newsletter from The Outnet in my mailbox, saying that they've just gotten a new load of Wang on sale! Naturally I hurried up there to splurge...and here are my favourite pieces! I love the burgundy booties and green dress (I'm totally smitten for those colour as of now) and the snake bag (the hottest of prints). The blazer, the white shirt and the leather shorts are all about the masculin look, which I will definately be sporting coming fall! And the brown booties? They're just so deliciously seventies!

Too bad I won't be able to buy all of these items!

Here's the outfit I wore yesterday to go grocery shopping. It's very casual, yet I felt very chic due to the expensive bag I had on my arm! It is actually from a friend, but she gave it to me, since she felt that I loved it more than she did (I nearly jumped her when she gave it!).

The chelsea boots I'm wearing must be my favourite pair at the moment. I already blogged about them here. They're not only very hot this fall, but also super comfy! And I love the Scandenavian allure they have :)

New make-up

I bought myself an Elle UK last week, which is a huge treat because it is super-expensive here in Belgium (well yeah, I find €8 a lot for a magazine). But I read a very disturbing article in it about how you should regularly replace your make-up, because otherwhise it gets filled with bacteria! I daresay it kinda freaked me out. And so, I went straight to the store to get myself some new brushes, foundation, compact powder, blush, red lipstick and a make-up bag (I had just recently purchased mascara so I felt no need to replace that too). Oh, and while I was there anyway, I also grabbed myself a new gold, shimmery nailpolish!

The brushes are from Hema, the foundation is Nivea, the make-upbag from H&M and the rest is all from Catrice, which I think is a great brand if you don't want to spend much money on make-up - I prefer to save my money for expensive clothes ;)

How about you? Are you a cheap girl like me when it comes to make-up or a big spender?

Yesterday I hopped in H&M with my boyfriend to buy him some new basic T-shirts, but when I saw this tribal-print mini, I just couldn't resist! But, I pledged that this would be the last item I bought there for at least two months. For making this this post made me realise that I shop at H&M WAY to often! And I instead I would much more like to shop less and save up for some more expensive purchases at COS, Massimo Dutti, J.crew,... So that 'll be my new quest ;)

Late Afternoon

It's been a while since my last post. The reason for this is, I was at Pukkelpop festival, where a terrible storm took place on Thursday. Several stages/tents were ruined and five people died. Luckily my friends and I were all okay...But I can tell it took me a few days to get it out of my system!

So now it is and I am ready for fashion again ;) starting off with an outfit of one of my favourite bloggers over at Late Afternoon. I love the dress she's wearing. It's from the Asos Salon collection. I admit I have been wanting to buy it for a long time, but unfortunately it was a bit over budget... Still hurts a bit to see it again though!

Moi: For a walk

Hi lovelies!

I just wanted to let you know I had a fabbidifab time in France. We made several long walks, ate dame blanche until our bellies ached, drank vin rouge while playing contemplating life's biggest questions and lay in the sun reading...sigh!

Now I have to say I'm a real nature-loving-gal. I love the fresh smell of the forest, green meadows, wild flowers and the peace and quiet. But combining that with my love for fashion isn't always that easy. For pray do tell me, how many fashionable hikers are there? Well, I tried anyway! You like the result? Since the weather here has been pretty shitty here for the last few weeks, I find myself more and more longing for the fall/winter collections. This editorial is the perfect preview! The hat (in all its different shapes and sizes) is promised to be an essential accessory coming season. Here it's combined with different shades of orange/brown/red. I also love the thick materials that have been used like filt, tweed, chunky knits and coloured fur.

I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was extra-long since Thursday was our national holiday. So I spent four days with my boyfriend, working on our future home. I can tell you there's not much fabulous about sanding your walls (your hands and nails get totally ruined!), but I'm sure our home will look lovely in the end!

A namesake of mine, who probably had a much more glamorous weekend is Nimue Smit. I love her style in this picture. Tough booties with a girly dress, finished with a blazer! And I just like that she's a (rather) famous model that has the same name as I :)

How to: Curly hair

Today I would like to show you an easy way to curl you hair without using heat! I washed my hair in the morning and just let it dry. Then just comb your hair and part it at the side.

Next put a headband round your head.

Then take a strand of hair and put it around the hairband once. Take what's left of the strand plus some extra hair and around the band again. Work your way all to the back like that.Wind the last piece of hair several times around the band and just tuck the rest in.

With this updo, you can walk around throughout the rest of the day and you must also sleep on it.

The next morning, you pull the band out of your hair, carefully comb through it and finish up with some hairspray.

Tadaa!

I pinned two strands of hair to the back of my head, to finish up the look.

I always love to give myself a treat, so today I will be giving myself a facial. Here's my beauty routine:

First of all I make sure the bathroom has an agreable temperature and I put on some relaxing music.

I love to steam out my pores: I just add a few drops of tea tree essence to a bowl of boiling water. I hang my head over the bowl while covering myself with a towel. This way you make your own little steam room! After a minute or 5 your pores are open. This is the perfect moment for a clear-up strip. I like the ones from Nivea. While your pores are still open, it's also much easier to squeeze out blackheads or pimples. If you do make sure to wipe your face with a tonic or desinfectant afterwards.

After that I exfoliate my face with a gentle scrub. I like this one from Clarins, it's very mild and creamy. Next I apply a face mask. I prefer something clay-based, perfect for a mixed or oily skin. I let it rest for about 10mins and wash it off with a washcloth (These last steps can be done while taking a bath)

Finally I apply my favourite moisturizer. I really love this one from La Roche Posay, because it's not to greasy.

Voilà! I hope you'll enjoy this beauty routine just as much as me. Now I have to say that at first your skin may look a litlle reddish from all the pimple-squizing and applying different products, but the next day you will look absolutely radiant!

So far my week has been quite a busy one! I worked from 7am til 5pm at H&M on Monday and ran several errands on Tuesday. Yesterday I updatet the online shop I run together with my sister. (We're also having a 30% disount for the month of July. Check out our blog for the discount code!)

I also seem to have picked up a cold (yes, you've got that right a friggin cold in summer!) So today, is stricly for relaxing and getting better asap! I'm going to curl up in the sofa and watch a chickflick while drinking all the amount of tea a person can drink in one day!

I've had a fabulous day so far! This morning I went to a gym to give my lazy body a wake-up call. I hadn't worked out for a month (what with all the exams and stuff), so it really felt good! Then I rewarded myself with a relaxing 10 mins on the sunbed. Afterwards I did some shopping with a friend and we had a delicous lunch (a baguette with mozarella, bazil, tomato and black olives, yum!). Back at home I passed some time at Fashion Gone Rogue, where I found this gorgeous editorial for Elle Vietnam.

I really love the rich fabrics, the glittery materials and the animals prints. They're paired with gorgeous chunky jewellery. The combination of all this might have been a bit too much I can imagine, but here it works out perfectly! The pictures even have a very light and breezy atmosphere...

Macaron delight

Above you can see the macarons my boyfriend got me for my birthday - amongst other things, of course ;). I had never tasted macarons, but I was always going on about how cute and stylish they looked and how desperately I wanted to go to "Ladurée" in Paris to try them out! So well, maybe a ticket to Paris would've been a slighty better present but this one is quite close I dare say!

Oh, and by the way: they where absolutely delish!

A trend that we've been seeing all over the place this season is colour blocking. I absolutely adore this, but I have to confess I find myself a bit reserved to go all the way... Fortunately bright coloured bags are the perfect solution for this impasse! They add a nice pop, without being too 'in-your-face'.

My personal favourite is the blue Céline cluth that Taylor Tomasi Hill has been sporting! If only I has a bigger budget!
